Hi, my name is Lena Rasmussen

and I am mostly a self-taught artist from Vancouver Island, BC. I am a great procrastinator andĀ I am always late for all my deadlines and appointments. I have read it is because the artist’s mind is just so busy with too many pictures and thoughts that we actually lose track of time šŸ˜‰

I have gotten over a someĀ of my procrastination and silly shyness to post some of my not so daily paintings. I have entered art exhibits. I have opened an Etsy shop. I am painting more. I couldn’t have done it without my two cat art critics Mr. Magoo and fat princess cat MissĀ Miso.

Surface – Painting the surface and textures of rocks and barnacles found on the beach near Nanaimo, British Columbia

I have signed up for the ‘The Daily Post’ in hopes of improving my blogging and my writing skills.

I completed this painting a few years back. I tried to replicate the surfaces of the rocks and the textures of the sea barnacles onto the canvas I was painting on. I had taken photos of rocks by the oceanĀ in beautiful Neck Point Park in Nanaimo, BC.

Red Poppy Paintings

Here is part of my art studio.
